I have been bothered by the Sky GO Black screen of death for the last few days since the site forces me to install.

I have tried everything from re-installing my OS to running the app on multiple machines. After some investigation I identified an issue with the software package that sky are providing.

This included DLL is a 64bit dynamic link library and I was attempting to run the software on a 32bit version of windows old Lenovo Atom Tablet.

Let me know how you get on. Please note this will not resolve performace issues but will hopefully get the app loading on a 32bit system.

First I had to remove the device and re-add the laptop, now it doesn't download no error message just click and nothing happens and black screen for playback.

I haven't turned off my antivirus, and I'm not going to whilst connected to the internet. Yes - I turned the virus software off and the firewall. I also added the application to the approved apps and that made no difference.

All looks good until I click in to watch something - audio is working fine however no pictures just a blue screen after rotating circle in middle of screen disappears.

We need a fix urgently! The same for me this is a nightmare which sky needs to fix. Also why do I have to have the desktop icon I shouldn't be forced to this option if I'm happy to login through my browser.

There should be a choice!!!! I am quite capable of adding a shortcut to my desktop if I want one. I prefer my desktop to be tidy, not full of icons I don;t want on my desk top.

I have now tried on 3 consecutive days to login into sky go using this icon and it doesn't work. There is no point in having a "nice" litlle instruction when you login telling you to download the desktop icon when the system is failing every time.

Ask your self why a person can logiin to use the BBC iplayer system on either windows 10 or 7 without any issues. Ask your self why a person can login into the ITV hub on either windows 10 or 7 without any issues.

Then ask your self why a company the size of SKY can't get their iplayer system to be workable. It has to say something about the route and system Sky have chosen for their iplayer.

Now it may be they have to have a different workable system due to the variety of channels they offer, however when people pay for this variety they expect to get a system which works.

They need to sort out the issues and offer proper help and guidence for all the different OS platforms. Fully agree there is no point just blandly making a statement as to why the system has to change and ignoring the fact that it does not work properly.
